Sugary Surgery


Traditions in transition enter near future
As if a dark tunnel of scalpels and suture
No small business  of costs and diversion
Digs deeper hole with complex imprecision


The only way back from the muck and mire
Is to get a good lawyer to hold them to the fire
Will the public ever access a future data base
Or just go to law school to be in this chase


Relationship matters in precise direct ways
Government subsidies found in cargo bays
To dump product in a market under price
Antidumping laws even freezes out ice


Where are the public access databases?
Politicians see concern on people's faces?
To game the system and to entice the poor
Forever keeps regulators knocking at the door


Travel wide to find another government market
Selling their wares to fit all that deep pocket
Technology sees past enticement games
That focus the sale, spread the blames


Trading partners once for pure survival
To subsidize and dump now the new rival
Pipes for drilling shipped so silently seamless
Is the American way to be left so dreamless?


Blue collar suburb with pipes in the ground
Laid long before a homeowner came around
Uninhabitable timetable approaches in our time
Countervailing, antidumping laws stop it on a dime


And so it goes our democracy experiment
Republicans, democrats terms of endearment
Houseless chimneys, seamless pipes so maimed
It's a politician's market in the old system so gamed

Google power jumps in with android system
Tablet computer will have the world to listen


Diversity strikes in different digital ways
Entertainment employs to bring in strays
Carrier subsidy may not be the one who plays
Galaxy Tab or iPad, who goes and who stays

Elevator goes up on the web in spread of cookie
Fringe element pops the screen to be a bookie
From presidents to generals to heads of state
Party cooks up for me I thought I was late


Diversity diets bake a digital media cake
Difference in disclosure ready to break
The next big joke or is lame the plan
To build on a lower man's hat tan


In America what we do is build
Massive memorials for those killed
Tiny church or cement structure cares not
Screens and monitors feed whatever we've got


Lower the boom where taxis honk and hum
Drive an old car fixed newly by a bum
Spectacle for all the world to come
Build it and they will drum


Sow a little history to see how they felt
Making a property profit money belt
Comes to be called a human right
Fringe in tall steel gird for fight


Is legal lethargy legal any more?
Opponents gather to choose a door
Seeks concessions in exchange for decision
Cuts a profile on a screen with dull precision


And what about all that talk of connections up
While the world watches as if we're the pup
About whom this is, not much is known
