Palms Mainframe

aloha poets,
A Mainframe of palms inspires today's poem. Enjoy!

A Novel Impressionism

Just the facts alone may hold interest only for so long
Attributes acquired through observations is the song
When the slow and smooth hard-gotten arrives as real
Those individual perceptions are what the readers feel

Old fashioned novels remain committed and imbued
To the endless pursuit of dogged verisimilitude
A better way may maintain a comic precision
While remaining devoted to each character's vision

A growing interest is a good place to meet
In areas of consciousness and dancing on your feet
Mature observations never go fast enough to fleet
With juvenile ones never remain in the back seat

Impressionism can show its face in a modern way
If devices of your own imagination have a say
Prose may take a route to affect the subject at hand
To grow a consciousness in characters once bland

Can the self-involved interact in interesting ways?
More so than the hyperalert in fast restless ways?
To create a better world is impressionism's aim
Accentuate the subject then make it fair game

Immigration Law Flowering

aloha poets,
Hibiscus immigration law flowering inspires today's poetry.
Enjoy play on!

The Long Immigration Debate Draws Bead

Immigration law in Arizona takes center stage
Federal v States' rights appear now as the plague
Police chief and sheriff's  Arizona law of the land
Spark a national debate, the need to hold a hand

A burden on all in these legal and economic times
Fair immigration law is ours to find, one that rhymes
Even tourists boycott over illegal laws of immigration
Can freedom stand as eagle's claws dig in a nation?

Crossing a constitutional line fuels the long debate
Anyone checked the human and drug corridor of late?
The right to protect Arizona seems at the fore
As the right of lawful citizens heads out the door

Department of Homeland Security, a job to do
Racial profiling can yet be the drop of the other shoe
Our President's precedence is to challenge States' right
Preliminary injunctions hold status quo, not so tight

So what's the answer, where does it all lead?
Lawmakers want something, for now they just bleed
Arizona sovereignty, border protection plants its seed
As we speak, civil rights v police departments draw bead

Orchid Face

aloha poets,
                     Orchid face inspires today. Enjoy!

Guitar Strummer

Stop the world I want to get off my addiction to you
Social activity once, now articulates our every view
Tell me enough of you and I won't stop talking of me
We fueled the growth with natural voices to be "we"

Amid the mud we wrap the noose of noise
There are those whose sound tracks the joys
We kiss the misspoken to give an honest try
Coupled in circular motion through digital sky

The pretext of reprehension and new protege'
Just one click and I'm headed back your way
Missed you so much I still have more to say
This crash scene fills the void for us to play

Someday I swear I'm going to write a song
On arrival of you in breath it won't be long
A love like this, you usually find it broken
Homegrown versions go online, find us jokin'

I'm serious this time I'm no corporate-backed elite
Just sit here strumming guitar in my bare feet
And there you are on my mainframe in your sheen
TV-friendly this love now gone totally mainstream

Mountain Palms Cloud Bank

aloha poets,
Mountain palms cloud bank inspires today's poem. Enjoy!

That Lyrical Flow

Subjective perceptions carry another balmy day
News blurbs and sound bytes, palms will still sway
When constant instant success finds no hope of a fight
What all are stupid for, you remain against with delight

You sense the destruction of subjective perception
Where innocence yawns and fits in with succession
You articulate your own brand of flowery conviction
Through incessant accesses and showery diction

In hopes of your outrage to bring wilderness to order
You recite beautiful musings out there on the border
In consciousness and character you hope to be found
As innocence bellows another luxurious sound

You shed the traditional in hopes of some flair
Is anybody listening, is anyone there?
Characters and plot develop only so far
Chances with language?.. that's who you are

Chelsea Bride

Oscar de la Renta Beaux-Art place
Blissful smile on your familiar face
John Jacob Astor welcomes you too
Chelsea bride with a Rhinebeck view

Former first daughter now all aglow
We met you as a kid so long ago
Embracable in braces you were no brat
Chelsea Clinton, a little Cheshire cat

Near Chippaqua where Hillary hails
"Confidentiality,"one of her holy grails
Bill has to be"proud as a peacock" dad
New York, New York, all in all so glad

A sea of photographers want to attend
Writers like us would love to bring a pen
Tiffany's to the Hamptons, it's a real to-do
Chelsea bride we wish happiness for you

Tropical Jazz

Break my stride beauty, are you here to save me?
It's rhythmically imperative to know what it is you gave me
Disinterest lacks only the intensity of a good line
Live performances spirit the fervor to do fine

Speaking of which, is anybody listening?
Beyond spent days of lengthy stint on oceans glistening?
No wonder they say you see we all have to pay some price
The savvy and popular continue their edit so concise

This patch of path now seems such unfamiliar ground
It connects to, then diverts from familiar sound
Hopes gotten up are in danger of flights so high
Honored roots know nothing of plans on the sly

Here on the edge is where troublesome bubbles anew
A world where organized statements are so far and few
Instead this place is vibrant with its own kind of clang
It kidnaps with poetics far from the Head in a Hole Gang

To lose your razor's edge is a search of friendly textures
Not to cruise the ledge for institutionalized heady lectures
A sound strategy of sound further nurtures a past hunger
No pretending, remember now, you get no younger

PTSD: Experienced Trauma v. Personal Vulnerability

Invisible Wounds

As in any prolonged traumatic event to unfold
Who is to say what's merely tin and what's gold
Exact reactions to a waking image is no science
Post traumatic stress disease stands in defiance

Are pains merely our own vulnerabilities reflected?
Of pre-conditional constitution once hidden now detected?
Is profound impact of trauma's inhumanity so widespread?
Does prudence define we simply imagined in our head

Once were doctors who in their own inimical way
Diagnosed the disease then reported their final say
Silver spoons with slivers are now so common place
Witness this extinction of war to save the human race

Save it for whom or for what you may ask
Each other, may we pursue a more worthy task?
Apathy, cynicism, alienation may abound
In the course of a day, a vulnerability found

Political artfest is the new slugfest of debate
Where doctors v. politicians head for the gate
Mistrusts of insomnia in expectations of betrayal
PTSD either way can be defined as jail

Whatever terminology, it finds ways to embrace
Just hearing of  a trauma puts us all in the race
Handsome military, rich with warrior and tale
Come home from the battlefield inside hell's jail

Can anyone know where the real answer lies?
Do personal vulnerabilities let stressors traumatize?
Medical doctors join political debate on healthcare
PTSD relives phobias in flashbacks of nightmare

Jungle Bungalow

aloha poets,
                      Jungle bungalow inspires today. Enjoy!

"Just Pay Me" Blues

Ok let's do it, I'll be your protestor
I'll go out for a dollar to be your jester
Yes I will, I'll be your point man too
They can point at me, I'll picket for you

You say it's unfair those wages they offer
Not enough money to bother with your coffer
I'm looking for work I'll do your little dirty
I'll sing and chant make that a buck thirty

Hire me now, I'll be your best protestor
Your own couldn't make it, why let it fester?
I'll march and rant on your paid picket line
Hey Mr manager can you spare a dime?

Pay me to march, pay me to chant
Pay me to picket, pay me to rant
I'm here for you to fill organizational need
While your own workers stay home to bleed

Just pay me, pay me now, anyway anyhow
Nothing is for free you can be my cash cow
I'll walk your line, looking fine, be on time
Just pay me!

Tropical Hearts

aloha poets,
                      Tropical hearts inspire today. Enjoy!

Einsteins Without Borders

So immigration as an issue comes into play
Softer sides are needed with the world at bay
Kinder and gentler truly gives competitive edge
Each country out there sits alone on no ledge

Politics of policy today seeks to reform
Talented special skills, bodies stand warm
Hostile attitudes now only view the needs
While the public stares, media news feeds

Obvious benefits keep hiding from view
Innovation crosses borders for business anew
To create high paying jobs, now far and few
Einstein immigration policy is tried and true

How do you police a creative mind?
Competitive edges global markets will find
Higher living standards is an economic win
The best minds await if we only let them in

Cloud Angel

aloha poets,
Clouds appear as a floating angel across the ocean sky. Enjoy!

Midlevel Medieval

Beach forecast now in a forest of dreams
Sao Paulo destination of new oil rig teams
Brazilian vessels fluctuate in coxswain
40% now the chance of pain

Jailed geologists and scattered small storms
Tropical flares coastal farmland warms
Money for trouble is to create a clean slate?
Simpe returns communist-era welfare state

Pay per view with more scads of hugs
Another thumping, another round of shrugs
Texas City Texas now has tar balls
One by one the Gulf south falls

So they say the south will rise again
With thousands of oil plugs can they win?
Ads give big oil another plug
Drive Tar Del Mar, give your car a hug

As the ocean view goes, so their view remains
Stiff winds soft tar gushing crude gains
Reminisce now go back to the day
Of soft winds and stiff tar the medieval way

Hitch a ride on those ships of no idle fleet
Get carried by currents, unbridle your feet
Deepwater Horizon in such a shallow view
Search now for yourself the deep wild blue
